A native of South Carolina, where she received a BA in theater arts, Alison spent several years living and working in Boston. Returning to South Carolina to care for her aging father, she earned a second degree, a BS in exercise science. During this time, Alison experienced the many different aspects of caring for people affected by dementia. She volunteered at several local nursing homes, assisting with activities, doing room visits, and eventually doing hospice vigil visits. These experiences made Alison realize that her future was in aging services. After the passing of her father, she moved to San Francisco in 2016 and joined the Catholic Charities team. Alison is committed to providing compassionate care for the elderly and respite for their caregivers. An avid reader, she also enjoys music, dancing, board games, and playing with her dog.
