Summer Camp Counselors

Summer Camp Counselors are the core of the summer camp experience for our campers. They create a safe, positive and playful environment for 8-10 children in their cabin group. Counselors supervise campers and participate with their cabin group in all camp activities, as well as implementing creative ideas for various activities, cabin games and soul foods, support at meals, all camp events, campfires, etc. Counselors are responsible for assisting in resolving discipline issues within their cabin group and responsible for the safety and wellness of all CYO Summer campers.

Village Lead

The Village Lead  is responsible for scheduling, monitoring, leading and supervising all counselors and campers within their assigned village. Additionally, the Village Lead coordinates and implements all aspects of the CYO Camp curriculum. They are responsible for creating and maintaining a safe, positive, caring and playful environment for their assigned village.

Summer Camp Coordinator

The Summer Camp Coordinator (SCC) is responsible for logistics and program implementation throughout CYO Summer Camp. Coordinating transportation, meals, and field trips for all campers are a few of the primary responsibilities of the SCC. The SCC is responsible for the success and well being of the entire CYO Summer Camp program. The SCC will work closely with the Summer Camp Manager to ensure a safe, fun and enriching camp experience for each camper and staff person. The SCC will motivate the staff to achieve the highest standards of the summer camp experience.

Counselor-In-Training Coordinator

The Counselor-In-Training Coordinator is a CYO Summer Camp leadership team member responsible for training and evaluating CITs as well as assisting the Summer Camp Coordinators with all aspects of the CYO Summer Camp program. The CIT Coordinator assists with staff training and is a key member of the CYO Summer Camp leadership team.

Huckleberry Day Camp Coordinator

The Huckleberry Day Camp Coordinator is responsible for monitoring, leading and supervising all counselors and campers within their assigned program. Additionally, the Day Camp Coordinator schedules and implements all aspect of the CYO Camp curriculum for Huckleberry Day Camp. She/He is responsible for creating and maintaining a safe, positive, caring and playful environment for their assigned program.

CYO Summer Camp Health Officer

The CYO Summer Camp Health Officer (CHO) is responsible for the overall care of all campers and staff. Throughout the summer CHOs process camper health forms, communicate with parents regarding health questions, and manage OTC and Rx medications. The CHO is responsible for maintaining the Health Office and First Aid Stations around camp. The Camp Nurse and Summer Camp Manager oversee and supervise all CHOs.

Lead Health Officer and Registered Nurse

The LHO/RN at CYO Summer Camp manages the Camp Health Office and oversees the Camp Health Officers on staff. In addition they provide medical treatment to campers and staff in accordance with the approved treatment procedures and ACA Accreditation Standards. In addition to providing regular on-site consultation the LHO/RN is also on call throughout all camp sessions in case of emergency.
