Serving Everyone

One Person. One Family. One Community at a Time.

Learn more about our COVID-19 response.

This week, domestic terrorists in the United States Capitol violated our democracy and constitution in a violent assault on our country. Five people died in the insurrection. Many in our community and across the country are experiencing pain and anger due to these deplorable acts.

Our agency’s core values of compassion, respect, and accountability require us to expect and do better. We are worried about the fragility of our democracy at this moment.

And yet, we have hope. We witness the extraordinary resilience and strength of the human spirit every day in our clients. We see our employees demonstrate compassion, kindness, and courage as they champion the most vulnerable and work to change lives every day. We value the power of community.

Today, let us re-commit to the courageous, urgent work that will transform our society into one where we can all thrive. Our democracy, faith, and decency demand it.

Together, we can accomplish the remarkable.

Care for Our Community Continues with Essential Services, Determination & Compassion During COVID-19

We are here. During this unprecedented time of COVID-19 and with the shelter-in-place order, the needs in our community and our challenges are greater than ever. Our Catholic Charities programs and services are essential.

Our critical services today reflect our flexible response to the deepening crisis our neighbors experience as a result of COVID-19 and include:

  • Helping thousands of undocumented adults residing in California who have been affected by COVID-19 apply for vital, one-time financial assistance through the state-funded Disaster Relief Assistance for Immigrants (DRAI) project;
  • Staffing a 63-room hotel for homeless families during shelter-in-place and providing robust problem solving to move these families out of homelessness when the pandemic is over;
  • Helping San Francisco families remain housed by providing financial assistance for rent, medical bills, groceries, and utilities through the Silicon Valley Community Foundation COVID-19 Regional Response Fund;
  • Helping San Francisco families and individuals, regardless of immigration status, maintain housing stability through temporary financial assistance through the Give2SF COVID-19 Response & Recovery Fund;
  • Distributing groceries and providing delivery services weekly to hundreds of seniors and neighbors who otherwise would go hungry as they shelter-in-place;
  • Conducting hundreds of phone interviews and consultations with immigrants;
  • Providing care, comfort, and safety to the many adults with HIV/AIDS living at our five
    residential programs who are high-risk if they contract COVID-19 due to their compromised
    immune systems; and
  • Continuing to offer compassionate, therapeutic care to children and youth who have been
    traumatized, neglected, and abused or who are coming out of the juvenile justice system
    while they shelter-in-place at our residential care programs.

Our teams are on the front lines, bravely and tirelessly supporting those in our community who are most vulnerable and at-risk.

Our programs are open and our dedicated employees continue to care for our neighbors in accordance with all the safety measures to keep them and those we serve safe.

As never before, we need your support. Give today to help ensure we can meet the needs of our community today and tomorrow.
